New to the business or thinking about becoming a real estate agent? Then you most likely have a few questions. Below are answers to some of the most frequently asked questions we receive. How do I get a real estate license?

The first step in getting a real estate license is to contact the Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC). Visit TREC to find out more about the process, or contact TREC at 512-459-6544.

If I just passed the real estate test, can I join the Association?

Yes, you can join CCAR if you are currently sponsored by a Broker and have documents supporting proof of sponsorship. In addition, your sponsorship documents should have also been sent to TREC, or the TREC Web site should show you hold an active license with your sponsor.

How much are dues?

The dues you pay are based on your level of membership with our Association (Designated REALTOR®, Non-Designated REALTOR,® or Affiliate). Visit the "Join CCAR" area of our Web site to determine what your particular dues will be.

When are the annual dues due?

Yearly membership renewals are due by December 1 for the next year.

What is a LFRO office?

A Limited Function Referral Office (LFRO) is a separate entity that sponsors real estate licensees or appraisers whose sole function is to refer prospective clients to a particular broker.

When is new member orientation?

Before you can participate in New Member Orientation, you must first sign-up to be a member of CCAR. CCAR holds new member sign-up Mondays-Thursdays at 10 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m. (other times are available by appointment). At member sign-up, a Member Services Representative will discuss the New Member Orientation with you. New Member Orientation is usually the first Friday of the month; however we encourage you to contact CCAR at 972-618-3800 to confirm for the specific month in question.

How do I get a keycard/or keybox?

When you join CCAR, you have the opportunity to lease a Supra DisplayKEY (keycard) and cradle. Please note that your keycard lease with Supra is renewable on July 1 of each year. In addition to the keycard, you can also purchase Supra iboxes in the CCAR REALTOR® Store.

How do I get ZipForm?

To have access to ZipForm, you must be a member of an Association and pay Texas Association of REALTORS® (TAR) dues. Visit the TAR Web site at www.texasrealtors.com to access ZipForm.

How do I get involved in a CCAR committee(s)?
