Tomorrow, November 17: CCAR Annual Affiliate Holiday Auction
Come join the fun tomorrow, November 17 for our Annual Affiliate Holiday Auction. Breakfast will be served, so please come and get your holiday shopping underway. Remember to bring non-perishable goods or toiletry donations for the Samaritan Inn. A list of their needs can be found here.

If you are donating an item for the auction, please deliver it to CCAR by noon today or call Diane Donley at 972-618-3800 and we will pick it up. Thank you in advance for your donation, we appreciate you.

Also, a 2010 membership dues reimbursement drawing will be launched at the auction. Only 150 tickets will be sold for this drawing, and proceeds from ticket purchases will be used to purchase a cold drink machine for CCAR's Refreshment Center. Tickets sell for $10 each or three for $25. So don't miss your opportunity to have your 2010 dues reimbursed!

NTREIS InnoVia to Replace NTREIS Rapattoni December 1
A new parallel MLS program, NTREIS InnoVia, will come online Dec. 1, 2009. It will replace NTREIS Rapattoni effective Jan. 1, 2010. This robust new program is loaded with features, including a comprehensive price adjustment CMA, prospecting, basic and custom searches, custom displays (reports), hotsheet search and financials. The home page is entirely customizable, and the program will run on Macs and multiple browsers. The look is similar to Rapattoni, and listing content is updated in real time.

Our MLS staff and our MLS Instructors have received training on InnoVia, and we are impressed with many of the great features of the program. We will be scheduling some InnoVia classes soon, so watch for information in your CCAR Education Newsletter. NTREIS Listings will remain our primary MLS access program. WyldFyre will no longer be included through NTREIS, but it will be available by subscription. While it is always challenging to learn new programs, InnoVia is intuitive and we believe the learning curve will be short. Please let us know if you have any questions. Prize Winners to be Announced Soon
The 2010 early dues paying drawing is now complete. We will notify the winners via e-mail and publish their names (with their permission) in the Weekly Update within the next few weeks. Seventy-five winners were selected at random from the 1,168 members who paid their 2010 CCAR membership dues by October 31. The odds of winning were better than 1 in 16!

CCAR is very excited to be able to award these great prizes, and we hope that you enjoyed this early-pay incentive. We appreciate all of our members, whether they pay early or not, and we look forward to providing top-notch service to you again in 2010.

FREE CLASS: Personal Safety For You
CCAR and the Wylie Police Department present: "Personal Safety for You." Come learn about personal safety practices that you can use in your real estate business and personal life. This important information will be presented by Sergeant Valdepena of the Wylie Police Department. Handouts will be provided, however please bring a pen to take notes. In addition, be sure to wear comfortable clothing as we will be learning a few self defense techniques. This is a FREE event, open to members and non-members of CCAR.

What's in a CMA? "Comparative Market Analysis"
What is a Comparative Market Analysis (CMA)? A CMA is the most accurate way for home sellers to determine their home's value, short of actual bids once the home is on the market. As part of this class, you will work on case studies, as well as learn:

• The importance of the property archive report
• What makes a good comp and what does not
• How to decide if the adjustment is a + or -
• How to explain why valuing houses by the $/SF method may not be correct
• To calculate the month's supply of inventory and the hotness factor for a market

NEW CLASS: Discovering the Finance and Tax Difference (one-day "Residential Finance Consultant" (RFC) designation program)
If the things you've been doing are not working, it is time to do things differently. Give buyers and sellers what they want and need is today's confusing market - financial information to make better decisions. This course also offers:

• Online fill-in-the-blank financial calculators
• A follow-up action plan to accelerate learning

Mark your calendars for CCAR's annual Affiliate Holiday Auction tomorrow, November 17 at 8:30 a.m. in the CCAR Banquet Room. Proceeds from the event will provide enhancements and educational tools for our association to better serve our members. In addition, those who plan to attend are asked to bring nonperishable food items and toiletries for donation to the Samaritan Inn. The annual Affiliate Holiday Auction is sponsored by the CCAR Affiliate Committee.

CCAR Installation and Holiday Celebration - December 17
The annual CCAR Installation of Officers has joined forces with the annual Holiday Breakfast! This combined event benefits the Collin County Children's Advocacy Center Rainbow Room.

Time: 11-11:45 a.m. (champagne reception), Noon (lunch)

As in years past, guests are encouraged to bring a new clothing, toiletry, or cash donation to this event to benefit the Collin County Children's Advocacy Center Rainbow Room.

This year's event will feature Texas Attorney General, Greg Abbott, as well as WFAA-TV News Anchor, Shelly Slater. Music will be provided by the Taylor Davis Band.
