CCAR Wine Down This Wednesday
Please join us this Wednesday, September 9 from 6-8 p.m. in the CCAR Banquet Room as we sample wines from around the world. A $20 TREPAC investment gets you into the event and provides for wine tasting and hors d'oeuvres (beer and soft drinks also available). Attendees who collect advertising information from every table will be registered to win a 32" TV or wine cooler refrigerator.

Annual Membership Survey
Watch your inbox this Wednesday for an invitation to participate in CCAR's Annual Membership Survey. This year, everyone who completes the survey will be entered into a drawing for a free membership (local dues only) or a $50 gift card! Be sure to fill out the short survey as soon as you receive it - it's only open through September 30.
Survey results are utilized by CCAR and the Membership Development/Benefits Committee to make adjustments as needed to programs and services. In fact, survey results from previous years initiated changes to the frequency of Plano's Networking Meetings, as well as the services we offer on our Web site.
Flu Shots Available at CCAR on September 15
Flu shots will be available at CCAR on Tuesday, September 15 from 8-11 a.m. in the conference room. The cost of the shot is $15, and an appointment is not required. Members who plan to come for a flu shot are encouraged to join in on the Plano Networking meeting which begins at 9 a.m.
CCAR 2010 Membership Dues Billing Coming Soon!
CCAR will e-mail 2010 membership dues billing statements in early October. It is important that we have a current valid e-mail address for you, so please be sure to update your e-mail address if it has recently changed. You can view and edit your contact information by going to www.ccar.net. Under "CCAR Online Services," click on "Update Your Contact Information" and log in with your MLS ID and password (Affiliates log in with your membership ID and password).
We will not mail paper bills this year, so please be sure your e-mail address is correct. Once the e-mail statements have been sent, you may pay your dues online by going to www.ccar.net and clicking on "Pay Dues & Other Fees" under "CCAR Online Services." If you don't receive the e-mail notice because we either have an incorrect e-mail address for you, or your e-mail account filters out our e-mails, you can still go to our Web site in early October to pay your membership dues. As in prior years, you may also fax in your payment by credit card or pay in person by check or credit card.
Jeanette Edwards Named 2010 Lone Star CRS Treasurer
CCAR member Jeanette Edwards will be installed as the 2010 Treasurer of the Lone Star CRS Chapter on September 14 at the TAR Convention in Dallas. If you would like to attend the CRS Luncheon and Installation, be sure to register at www.texasrealtors.com. Avis Wukasch will install the officers and Gee Dunsten, a long-time CRS instructor, will serve as the keynote speaker.
"Robocall" Ban in Effect
Since September 1, prerecorded commercial telemarketing calls to consumers - commonly known as robocalls - are prohibited, unless the telemarketer has obtained permission in writing from consumers who want to receive such calls. The new requirement is part of amendments to the Telemarketing Sales Rule. Sellers and telemarketers who transmit prerecorded messages to consumers who have not agreed in writing to accept such messages will face penalties of up to $16,000 per call.
The rule amendments that went into effect on September 1 do not prohibit calls that deliver purely informational recorded messages, such as those that notify recipients that their flight has been cancelled. The rule amendments also do not apply to calls concerning collection of debts where the calls do not seek to promote the sale of any goods or services.
